Why should I write reviews?

All experiences matter, and we believe sharing these are important. It’s a chance to help other consumers be more informed, help them make better choices, discover great businesses, and avoid the not so great ones.

We believe that we should share the good experiences, so that businesses delivering great customer service can be given the credit they deserve. 

We also believe that we should share the bad, so that businesses are given the chance to resolve issues, learn from their mistakes and make changes to continue improving their customer service.

Whichever way you look at it, sharing your experience is important and we’d like to be the platform that helps you get heard.

Who can write reviews on Hellopeter?

Anyone who has registered with Hellopeter is able to write reviews with us.

Who can I write a review about on Hellopeter?

You can write reviews about any South African businesses that you have engaged with, even if that business isn’t on Hellopeter yet.

 
How do I write a review?

To write a review, you’ll need to have an account on Hellopeter, and be signed in. Once signed in, select “write a review” to share your experiences with the Hellopeter community. 

You’ll need to enter the name of the business you’re reviewing, the number of stars you give your overall experience (out of five), write about your actual experience, and give your review a title.

You may be asked for some additional information, such as your reference number. While not mandatory, this information can be useful for the business, especially in cases where you are wanting an issue to be addressed and resolved.

It’s important to note that all reviews are written online on hellopeter.com and no reviews are accepted over the phone, on social media, or via email.

What shouldn’t I put in my review?

Once published, your review will be displayed on hellopeter.com and made visible to anyone browsing the site. 

For this reason, don’t include any sensitive or personal information about yourself or about the people you are reviewing. Please make sure your review doesn’t breach our content guidelines, otherwise, you risk having your review reported and removed.

Will the business I review see what I have written?

We hope they do, and if you’ve written a review about a business that is registered on Hellopeter, they will receive a notification when your review is posted. However, since you’re able to write reviews about businesses that aren’t on Hellopeter, there is a chance the business you’re reviewing does not read about your experience.

Don’t be discouraged though, your review will be seen by thousands of consumers across South Africa, and will help other people just like yourself make more informed purchasing decisions.

When will the business reply to my review?

If, or when, a business responds is completely up to the business. While Hellopeter tries to promote prompt responses, we cannot guarantee that a business will respond to your review.

Where are my reviews displayed?

When you write a review on Hellopeter, your review will always be displayed on that business’s profile page, and listed in your profile. It may also appear in other places, such as the Hellopeter home page, or on a featured page. 

Your review will also be listed in Google, and be shown in the search results if someone searches using the right combination of keywords that match your review, and the business your wrote about.

Businesses may also choose to display your review. This could be on their website, on their social media profiles, or in marketing collateral. And finally, other users may share your review on their own social media profiles (via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) or directly to someone they know via email.
