Are reviews screened before being published?
Yes, and no. While we do have automated checks in place to prevent spam, scam and duplicate reviews from being posted, we don’t read, screen or edit reviews before they’re published.
We’ve created an automated spam filter which screens reviews for known spam keywords. If a review contains one or more of these keywords, the review will be flagged as spam and it won’t be posted.
A review is considered a duplicate or repeat when the same reviewer has posted two or more reviews about one business (and the same issue) during a specific timeframe. In this scenario, only the original review will be posted, and the duplicates and repeats won’t be.
Does Hellopeter decide which reviews are posted and which are not?
No, we don’t decide which reviews are posted, and all the reviews that aren’t picked up as spam, are published. We do this to ensure that our platform is objective and transparent.
Who can reply to reviews?
Any business that has an active Hellopeter business subscription is able to reply to their own reviews. We require businesses to have an active subscription in order to reply to ensure official business replies are coming from credible and verified sources only.
Can businesses remove reviews?
No, businesses aren’t able to just delete reviews. The only way for a review to be removed from Hellopeter, is if it’s reported and found to be in violation of our content guidelines.

How long do reviews stay on Hellopeter for?
Reviews don’t expire, and once posted, will always be available on our Platform.
However, while the review is still available on our platform, we do acknowledge that as time goes on, the value of these reviews decreases since it’s less current and potentially, less relevant. This is why a review’s contribution towards a business’s TrustIndex will decrease over time.
